ESOG, Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists is a voluntary, non-profit, non-political professional association established to spearhead and promote quality reproductive health (RH) services and to ensure the rights of Ethiopian women for these services.

Establishment

ESOG was established in March 1992 in response to the global safe motherhood initiative as a collective professional concern to the high maternal and prenatal mortality and morbidity and overall poor SRH status in the country. Founding members were 70 licensed practicing Obstetricians and Gynecologists in Ethiopia.

Vision

ESOG aspires to see that all people have a right to and enjoy full reproductive and sexual health (SRH) and that the profession secures the professional environment to realize its mission.

Mission

To promote and enhance SRH through evidence-based and cohesive action of the association with active participation of its members and broad national and international partnership.
